We are a Rockport based pastry shop that specializes in wedding cakes, specialty cakes and baked goods.
Steven Watts, pastry chef/owner of Sweet Sensations, knew at the early age of 13 what he wanted to be when he grew up as he helped his mother make pies and homemade goods to sell at a local market right in his hometown of Tenants Harbor, Maine.
After attending culinary school, Steve decided to focus on his first love, being a pastry chef, and continued his education with many high-end pastry classes. He remained in the culinary world, working at many fine resorts and hotels across the country; including the Balsams Resort in New Hampshire, the Naples Beach Club Hotel in Florida, and the Williamsburg Foundation in Virginia before returning to Maine to become the first pastry chef for the Samoset Resort in Rockland.
Steve worked at the Samoset for 5 years, before deciding it was time take the entrepreneurial leap and open his own pastry shop on Rt 1, in Rockport that he has run for 25 years. Eventually, Steve expanded his business and built his dream pastry shop and café right next door to his original location and successfully ran both for 14 years. After some soul searching, Steve decided to concentrate on what had always been his passion, being a pastry chef. He sold the café building and reopened Sweet Sensations in his original location.

25 years of experience has brought many changes to Sweet Sensations. New cakes and desserts dreamed up of all shapes and sizes, 2 appearances on the Food Network, and a couple of location changes. Chances are good that if you ever ordered a wedding cake in the Midcoast area it was the creation of Steve Watts. His new/old shop is open to the public and offers a wide range of cakes and pastries. Steve is excited to be able to concentrate on his new shop and making the wedding cakes which has always been his passion.
